Media and Communications Council Charter

1. Purpose

The Media and Communications Council serves to uphold the voice, image, and communication standards of our Global Indian organisation. It ensures that all content and media efforts reflect our values of unity, integrity, diversity, and service.

2. Objectives

  • Promote the mission and activities of the organisation through responsible media engagement.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across platforms and regions.
  • Empower community members through media literacy and storytelling.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to media-related challenges or crises.

3. Scope of Responsibilities

  • Oversee all official communications including press releases, social media, newsletters, and audio-visual content.
  • Lead media strategy planning for key events and initiatives.
  • Maintain brand guidelines, editorial standards, and ethical frameworks.
  • Coordinate with regional media teams and provide necessary training.
  • Monitor media trends and integrate innovations as appropriate.

8. Review and Amendments

This charter will be reviewed annually to reflect new goals, technologies, and global realities. Amendments may be proposed by any council member and ratified by majority consensus.
