GIO Volunteers of Education Council at Cordia Group , Sanghol, Punjab, celebrates Vaisakhi with rural youth, having punjab folk dances Gidha and Bhangra.
Importance of Vaishakhi (Baisakhi)
- Vaishakhi, also known as Baisakhi, holds great significance both agriculturally and spiritually. It marks the harvest of the rabi crops, especially wheat, symbolizing prosperity, hard work, and the reward of farmers’ dedication. It is a time of joy and gratitude, when fields turn golden and communities celebrate.
- Vaishakhi is also deeply revered, particularly in Sikhism, as it commemorates the formation of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699, promoting values of equality, courage, and righteousness.
Thus, Vaishakhi beautifully blends gratitude for nature’s bounty with a message of spiritual awakening and unity.
Sharing few pictorial glimpses.
Wish you all HAPPY VAISAKHI from the land of Punjab.
