Her Majesty The Queen’s Passing Away comes as great shock to us, we the members of GIO (Global Indian Organisation) convey our deep condolences to the Royal Family.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was most loved by all not only in United Kingdom and territories but throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.
She was most kind and caring. I had the good fortune of meeting Her Majesty a few times over the last 3 decades.
In early 2003, I was invited for lunch at the Buckingham Palace. There were 7 other guests, The Queen and Prince Phillip and their Secretaries. Within a few minutes of conversations, we were made to feel at home. We talked about common subjects, sport, TV programs etc.
I was asked about life in Belfast. By the end of the lunch, we felt as if we have known the Royals for a long time. Such was the warmth and kind hospitality offered to us.
She was truly peoples Queen. She will be remembered and missed for a long time to come.
May this Great Soul Rest in Peace.
